Using the Windows Application Wizard

It is strongly recommended that the Reveille server and Reveille client computer be two separate machines. The Reveille client computer needs to be a dedicated machine on which other applications do not interfere with testing.

Make sure the following conditions are true:

  • WinApp Client can be installed on 32-bit Windows XP SP2 (WinApp Client runs as a service), or 32/64-bit Windows 7 or 32/64-bit Windows 10 or 32/64-bit Windows 2008/2012 Server (WinApp Client runs as a desktop application).
  • If running WinApp Client as a service, the Reveille Client service should be installed to run under the local system account and the allow to interact with desktop check box enabled.
  • Remote log file search is supported with the WinApp client service running on 64-bit Windows Servers.
  • Equipment and the equipment settings are compatible.
  • If you are using the Windows Application wizard to test Web pages, you must have Internet Explorer 7.0 (or higher) installed on the Playback computer.
  • Install the WinApp Client by copying and then running the WinAppClient.msi installation program on the Playback computer. The WinAppClient.msi installation program is located in the <Reveille Installation Path>\Reveille\Support\WinAppClient directory on the Reveille Server. Run the WinAppClient.msi installation program under a local Windows Administrator account.
