Configuring Database Options
The database configuration options for the Local Monitor Server enable you to specify the following:
- Monitor database type.
- Scorecard database connection
- Information needed to connect to the Monitor and Scorecard database.
To configure the database options for the Local Monitor Server:
- In the Left Navigational Pane, select the Local Monitor Server. The Local Monitor Server configuration options are displayed in the Right Configuration Pane.
- Select the Database tab.
- Complete the following:

Database Type - Enables you to select the type of database used to store the Monitor information. |

Microsoft SQL Server |
(Radio Button) Select to specify Microsoft SQL as your Monitor database type. |

Oracle |
(Radio Button) Select to specify Oracle as your Monitor database type. |

Connect Timeout |
Enter the number of seconds allowed before timing out when connecting to the Monitor database. The default is 60 seconds. |

Command Timeout |
Enter the number of seconds allowed before timing out when executing queries against the Monitor database. The default is 60 seconds. |

Heartbeat Schedule | (Optional) Schedule for checking that the database is available. Can be used to disable the check, for example, during a database backup. By default, the database is checked regularly. | |
Connection Settings - Enables you to set the database connection settings. |

ODBC Datasource Name (DSN) |
Enter a valid Monitor or On Call database name. |

User Name |
Enter the user name that corresponds to the database selected. |

Password |
Enter the password that corresponds to the database selected. |
|
Confirm Password |
Type the password again to confirm. |

Test Connection |
(Button) Click to test the connection to your selected database. |

Scorecard Settings. |

Database |
Select the ODBC DSN connection and credentials for the Scorecard database. |
Note: If you change any of the configuration options, you are asked to Save when you select another component on the Left Navigational Pane.
