Configuring Proactive Mail Server Settings
The Proactive Mail Server settings enable you to set the address or address and port on the Mail Server used for Proactive e-mail confirmations.
Note: By default, the Proactive component sends and checks for an e-mail confirmation through Post Office Protocol (POP3) using port 110. To use a different POP3 Server, specify its settings on the Proactive tab. Proactive action is confirmed or denied by replying Yes or No.
To configure the Proactive Mail Server settings:
- From the Left Navigational Pane, select the Local Monitor Server. The Local Monitor Server configuration options are displayed on the Right Configuration Pane.
- Select the Proactive tab.
- Complete the following:

Description/Action |
Server Address |
Specify the Proactive Mail Server address. You can specify an address. For example: pop.mycompany.com For example: pop.mycompany.com:111 |
Credentials |
Select a system-wide credential. These are defined through the Credentials Manager. You can also click the button next to the field to display the Credentials window and create a new credential definition. To refresh the list, right-click the field and click Refresh. A [None] entry indicates that credentials are not used. |
Response Timeout |
The maximum amount of time (in minutes) to wait for a response from the e-mail server. |
Enable Proactive Actions |
Select the check box to enable/disable all proactive actions for all Monitors. |
Use SSL |
Select the check box to use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) when sending mail. |
Note: If you change any of the configuration options, you are asked to Save when you select another component on the Left Navigational Pane.
