Generating the Customer Experience Report for Groups and Monitors

The Customer Experience Report describes the availability and response time for a selected Monitor or Group. The report breaks down availability by Resource function, by Resource (all combined functions that make up a Resource), and by Monitor (all combined Resources that make up a Monitor).  In particular, the report details the following:

  • Average availability of a Monitor during a user-defined period, as well as for daily peak times during that period.
  • Average time the Resource function takes to respond.
  • Percentage of response times that exceed a user-defined value (in seconds).

There are Customer Experience reports for Monitor and Group.

Generating the Customer Experience Report for a Monitor

To generate theCustomer Experience Report for Monitors, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Reports in the Left Navigation Pane, then click Monitors. The Monitors report page appears.
  2. Select a Monitor from the drop-down list.
  3. From the Report Type drop-down list, select Customer Experience.
  4. Enter a the following information:
  • Date Time Range. Enter the date and time range for each day within the date range that you want to include in the report. For example, if you selected a time range of  8:00 am to 5:00 pm, the report includes information about availability and response times from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for each day in the date range.
  • Peak Range.  Enter the peak time range for each day within the date range that you want to include in the report. For example, if you selected a peak range of 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, the report will include information about availability and response times from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for each day in the date range.
  • Note: Resource availability during the set peak time is denoted in the report by bold-face and italics.

  • Exclude Date.s Enter the start and end date you do not want the report to run. For example, if you do not want the report to run on Christmas day, enter 12/25/2010 in the first and second box.
  1. Click Refresh near the top right corner of the page. The Customer Experience Reportgenerates based on the criteria you entered.

The columns for the Monitor Customer Experience Report are:

Resource

The name of the Monitor Resource. A Resource is a collection one or more related Monitor Tests.

Test

The Test description. A Test contains instruction on how to test a target system or application.

Average Availability

The average of the availability for all the resources in the Monitor.

Cost 1

The calculated cost 1 associated with Test downtime. The currency formatted value represents the amount of unit cost 1 (from the test reports tab) multiplied by the amount of minutes the Test has been in error.

Cost 2

The calculated cost 2 associated with Test downtime. The currency formatted value represents the amount of unit cost 2 (from the test reports tab) multiplied by the amount of minutes the Test has been in error.

Average Response Time

The average response time based on all the resources in the Monitor.

The percent of Tests within all the Resources in the Monitor that exceed the [1] time.

Min

The minimum time to execute all the Tests in the Monitor based on the minimum response time for each Resource in the Monitor.

Max

The maximum time to execute all the Tests in the Monitor based on the maximum response time for each resource in the Monitor.

Generating the Customer Experience Report for a Group

To generate the Customer Experience Report for Groups Report:

  1. Click Reports in the Left Navigation Pane, then click Groups. The Groups report page appears.
  2. From the Report Type drop-down list, select Customer Experience.
  3. Enter a the following information:
  • Date Time Range. Enter the date and time range for each day within the date range that you want to include in the report. For example, if you selected a time range of  8:00 am to 5:00 pm, the report includes information about availability and response times from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for each day in the date range.
  • Peak Range.  Enter the peak time range for each day within the date range that you want to include in the report. For example, if you selected a peak range of 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, the report will include information about availability and response times from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for each day in the date range.

Note: Resource availability during the set peak time is denoted in the report by bold-face and italics.

  • Exclude Dates. Enter the start and end date you do not want the report to run. For example, if you do not want the report to run on Christmas day, enter 12/25/2007 in the first and second box.
  1. Click Refresh near the top right corner of the page. The Customer Experience Report generates based on the criteria you entered.

To view information about Monitors also, select Include monitors.  

The columns for the Group Customer Experience Report are:

Group

Path of group based on Group selected for the report.

Average Availability

The average of the availability for all the Monitors in the Group.

Average Response Time

The average response time based on all the Monitors in the Group.

The percent of Tests within all the Monitors in the Group that exceed the [1] time.

Min

The minimum time to execute all the Tests in the Group based on the minimum response time for each Monitor in the Group.

Max

The maximum time to execute all the Tests in the Group based on the maximum response time for each Monitor in the Group.
