Installation & Setup

This section of the help center provides detailed information and procedures for Information Technology (IT) personnel who will install and set up Reveille™ and Reveille User Analytics:

• Reveille is the base application that enables you to observe technologies in your environment and to identify and resolve problems and exceptions. Monitors running on Reveille define how Reveille tests application and systems, what constitutes an error for a given monitor test, and how Support personnel are notified if an error occurs.
• Reveille User Analytics is a graphical application monitoring solution that enables you to understand the actual end-user experience and user activity for common Enterprise Content Management (ECM) applications.

Reveille and Reveille User Analytics work together to provide a complete view of the ECM application and platform health. And Reveille User Analytics can accurately deploy the proper resources to resolve detected problems when coupled with Reveille.

In regards to where to install Reveille and Reveille User Analytics:

• In a Test environment:
  Reveille and Reveille User Analytics can be installed on the same server. Likewise, the database for each can be installed on the same database server.
  
• In a Production environment:
  For best performance, capacity, and availability, Reveille and Reveille User Analytics should be installed on separate production servers. Reveille databases should be installed as separate databases (SQL Server) or tablespace schemas (Oracle) on a separate production database server(s) or database cluster.
